TERMS AND CONDITIONS

Welcome to Auto Keys R Us. These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of our website and the automotive locksmith, key cutting, key programming, remote programming, lockout, and related services provided by Auto Keys R Us (“Auto Keys R Us,” “we,” “us,” or “our”).
By using our website, scheduling an appointment, purchasing a product, requesting mobile service, or authorizing us to perform work on a vehicle, you agree to these Terms.
1. SERVICES
Auto Keys R Us provides mobile automotive locksmith and key-related services, which may include:
- Automotive key cutting
- Transponder key programming
- Smart key and proximity key programming
- Key fob and remote programming
- Replacement vehicle keys and remotes
- Duplicate keys
- All-keys-lost services
- Vehicle lockout assistance
- Key and remote testing
- Key blade cutting
- Vehicle immobilizer and security-system related programming
- Other automotive locksmith services
Services available for a particular vehicle depend on the vehicle's year, make, model, trim level, security system, existing keys, vehicle condition, equipment compatibility, and availability of appropriate parts and programming procedures.
We reserve the right to decline any service that we cannot safely, legally, or properly perform.
2. PROOF OF OWNERSHIP AND AUTHORIZATION
For vehicle security reasons, Auto Keys R Us may require proof that the customer owns or is legally authorized to access the vehicle before performing locksmith, key cutting, programming, lockout, or security-related services.
Acceptable documentation may include:
- Valid government-issued photo identification
- Vehicle registration
- Vehicle title
- Rental agreement
- Dealer documentation
- Written authorization from the registered owner
- Other documentation reasonably establishing lawful possession or authority
The name on the identification should reasonably correspond with the vehicle ownership or authorization documentation.
Auto Keys R Us reserves the right to refuse service if ownership or authorization cannot be reasonably verified.
By requesting service, you represent that you are the lawful owner of the vehicle or have authorization from the lawful owner to request the work.
3. CUSTOMER AUTHORIZATION
By approving an estimate, scheduling service, signing a work order, electronically accepting service, or otherwise authorizing Auto Keys R Us to begin work, you authorize us to perform the requested services on the vehicle.
You also authorize our technicians to access vehicle systems reasonably necessary to perform the service, including locks, ignition systems, diagnostic ports, immobilizer systems, security modules, onboard computers, and related electronic systems.
4. ESTIMATES AND PRICING
Prices provided by phone, text message, email, website, or online booking may be estimates based on information supplied by the customer.
Final pricing may vary if:
- The vehicle information provided is incorrect or incomplete
- The vehicle uses a different key, remote, immobilizer, or security system than expected
- Additional programming procedures are required
- The vehicle has previously modified or replaced electronic modules
- Existing keys or modules are defective
- Additional labor is required
- Additional parts or keys are requested
- Vehicle access is more difficult than reasonably expected
- Additional diagnostic work is required
Whenever reasonably practical, we will notify the customer of a material price change before performing additional chargeable work.
Applicable taxes, mobile service charges, after-hours charges, parts, programming, cutting, and other charges may be added where applicable.
5. MOBILE SERVICE AND SERVICE CALL FEES
Auto Keys R Us is a mobile service provider. A service call, travel, dispatch, diagnostic, or mobile service fee may apply.
Once a technician has been dispatched or arrives at the requested location, applicable service call or cancellation charges may be due even if the customer decides not to proceed with the requested work.
Customers are responsible for providing a reasonably safe and lawful location where the vehicle can be serviced.
We may decline or discontinue service when conditions are unsafe, unlawful, inaccessible, or otherwise unsuitable for performing the requested work.
6. APPOINTMENTS AND ARRIVAL TIMES
Appointment and arrival times are estimates unless specifically stated otherwise.
Mobile locksmith service can be affected by traffic, weather, previous appointments, emergency calls, parts availability, vehicle-specific programming issues, and other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We will make reasonable efforts to communicate significant delays.
7. CANCELLATIONS AND NO-SHOWS
Customers should provide as much notice as possible when cancelling or rescheduling an appointment.
A cancellation, dispatch, or service call fee may apply when:
- A technician has already been dispatched
- A technician has arrived at the service location
- The customer is unavailable at the scheduled location
- The vehicle is unavailable
- Required ownership documentation cannot be provided
- The customer supplied materially incorrect vehicle or location information
Special-order products may be subject to separate cancellation or return restrictions.
8. KEYS, REMOTES, AND REPLACEMENT PRODUCTS
Auto Keys R Us may supply OEM, OEM-equivalent, refurbished, aftermarket, or universal replacement keys and remotes depending on the customer's selection and product availability.
Unless specifically represented as an OEM product, a replacement key or remote should not be assumed to have been manufactured by the vehicle manufacturer.
Product appearance, logo, button configuration, materials, range, and construction may vary from the customer's original key while remaining functionally compatible with the vehicle.
9. CUSTOMER-SUPPLIED KEYS AND REMOTES
Auto Keys R Us may, at our discretion, attempt to cut or program keys, remotes, fobs, or other products supplied by the customer.
Customer-supplied products are used at the customer's risk.
We cannot guarantee that a customer-supplied key or remote:
- Is compatible with the vehicle
- Contains the correct electronics or transponder
- Uses the correct frequency
- Has the correct FCC ID or part number
- Is new or unlocked
- Has not previously been programmed or locked to another vehicle
- Is capable of being successfully programmed
- Is free from manufacturing defects
Programming or cutting charges may still apply when a customer-supplied product cannot be successfully programmed or used because the product is defective, incompatible, locked, incorrect, or otherwise unsuitable.
Auto Keys R Us is not responsible for replacing customer-supplied products damaged because of an existing defect, incorrect construction, incompatibility, or manufacturing problem.
10. KEY CUTTING
Keys are cut according to available vehicle information, key codes, existing keys, lock decoding, manufacturer specifications, or other appropriate methods.
Auto Keys R Us is not responsible for pre-existing problems involving worn, damaged, altered, replaced, or non-original locks, ignition cylinders, door cylinders, or key systems.
A correctly cut replacement key may operate differently in a vehicle with significantly worn or damaged locks.
11. KEY PROGRAMMING AND VEHICLE ELECTRONICS
Modern vehicle key programming can require communication with immobilizer systems, body control modules, security modules, gateways, electronic control modules, and other vehicle computers.
The customer understands that programming procedures may involve:
- Adding or deleting keys
- Resetting key-learning functions
- Accessing security systems
- Reading vehicle security information
- Performing diagnostic procedures
- Cycling vehicle power
- Disconnecting or supporting the vehicle battery
- Communicating with vehicle electronic modules
Certain programming procedures may erase previously programmed keys from the vehicle. When applicable, customers should have all keys they want retained available at the time of service.
12. PRE-EXISTING VEHICLE CONDITIONS
Auto Keys R Us is not responsible for problems caused by pre-existing vehicle conditions, including but not limited to:
- Weak or failed batteries
- Electrical problems
- Damaged wiring
- Faulty immobilizer systems
- Failed control modules
- Water damage
- Collision damage
- Previous improper repairs
- Aftermarket alarm or remote-start systems
- Modified vehicle electronics
- Previously replaced or improperly programmed modules
- Damaged ignition cylinders or locks
- Existing diagnostic trouble codes
- Communication network faults
If a vehicle cannot accept programming because of an existing mechanical or electronic problem, additional diagnosis or repair may be required.
13. PROGRAMMING RISKS
Auto Keys R Us uses professional equipment and accepted procedures when performing vehicle programming.
However, electronic programming inherently depends upon the condition and operation of the vehicle's existing systems.
Auto Keys R Us is not responsible for failure of a previously defective, damaged, improperly modified, or malfunctioning vehicle component that occurs during or after an otherwise properly performed programming procedure.
If an unexpected vehicle or module condition prevents completion of programming, we will make reasonable efforts to explain the issue and available options.
14. ALL-KEYS-LOST SERVICES
All-keys-lost situations may require additional security procedures, key generation, immobilizer access, vehicle disassembly, lock decoding, module communication, or manufacturer/security authorization.
Pricing for an all-keys-lost service may therefore differ from the price of adding a duplicate key when a working key is available.
15. LOCKOUT SERVICES
When performing vehicle entry or lockout services, Auto Keys R Us will use reasonable professional care to minimize the risk of damage.
Customers must disclose known problems with door handles, windows, locks, weather stripping, aftermarket accessories, or previous damage before service begins.
We are not responsible for pre-existing damage or defects.
16. WARRANTY
Unless otherwise stated on the invoice or at the time of sale, Auto Keys R Us warrants that keys and remotes supplied by us will be free from material defects for the warranty period communicated at the time of purchase.
Warranty coverage applies to defects in the product or workmanship and does not cover:
- Lost or stolen keys
- Physical damage
- Water or liquid damage
- Crushed or broken keys
- Abuse or misuse
- Normal cosmetic wear
- Damage caused by opening or modifying the key
- Improper battery replacement
- Vehicle-related electrical or programming problems
- Damage caused by another locksmith, dealer, repair facility, or third party
- Customer-supplied keys or remotes
Warranty service may require inspection and testing of the key, remote, and vehicle.
Warranty coverage is limited to repair, reprogramming, or replacement of the affected product or service at our reasonable discretion.
17. RETURNS AND REFUNDS
Because automotive keys and remotes are vehicle-specific security products, products that have been cut, programmed, paired, opened, modified, or specially ordered may not be returnable.
Refund eligibility depends on the circumstances of the transaction.
Completed labor, mobile service, diagnostic work, key cutting, and successfully completed programming services are generally non-refundable.
Unused and unopened products may be eligible for return subject to approval and any disclosed return policy.
Defective products supplied by Auto Keys R Us will be handled according to the applicable warranty.
18. PAYMENT
Payment is due upon completion of service unless other arrangements have been approved in advance.
Auto Keys R Us may accept payment methods including credit cards, debit cards, electronic payments, cash, or other approved payment methods.
Customers are responsible for all authorized charges associated with the requested service, including applicable taxes and approved additional work.
19. VEHICLE INFORMATION PROVIDED BY CUSTOMER
Customers are responsible for providing accurate vehicle information, including the year, make, model, trim, key type, ignition type, and whether working keys are currently available.
In some cases, the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) may be required to verify compatibility or obtain vehicle-specific information.
Incorrect information may affect product compatibility, service availability, pricing, or appointment duration.
20. WEBSITE PRODUCT COMPATIBILITY
Vehicle compatibility information appearing on our website is provided to assist customers in identifying potential replacement products.
Automotive manufacturers may use multiple key systems, FCC IDs, frequencies, part numbers, immobilizer systems, and key styles within the same model year.
A listing showing a particular year, make, and model does not guarantee compatibility with every vehicle of that description.
Compatibility should be confirmed using the vehicle's existing key, VIN, FCC ID, part number, frequency, vehicle configuration, or other appropriate information when necessary.
21. THIRD-PARTY PRODUCTS AND SERVICES
Auto Keys R Us may use products, information, software, equipment, databases, security services, or programming resources provided by third parties.
We are not responsible for interruptions or failures caused solely by unavailable manufacturer systems, security databases, third-party networks, internet outages, or other services outside our reasonable control.
22. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Auto Keys R Us will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from the use of our website, products, or services.
Our liability for a claim arising from a specific product or service will not exceed the amount paid to Auto Keys R Us for the product or service giving rise to the claim, except where a different limitation is required by applicable law.
Nothing in these Terms is intended to waive or limit rights or remedies that cannot legally be waived under applicable law.
23. CUSTOMER PROPERTY
Customers are responsible for removing or securing valuable personal property before service.
Auto Keys R Us is not responsible for loss or damage to personal property left in or around a vehicle unless directly caused by our negligence or wrongful conduct.
24. SAFETY AND RIGHT TO REFUSE SERVICE
Auto Keys R Us reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or terminate service when:
- Ownership or authorization cannot be verified
- Fraud or unlawful activity is suspected
- A customer or other person behaves in a threatening, abusive, or unsafe manner
- The location is unsafe
- Performing the requested service could violate applicable law
- The requested work cannot reasonably be completed without unacceptable risk of damage
25. WEBSITE USE
The Auto Keys R Us website and its contents are provided for general information and business purposes.
You agree not to misuse the website, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorized access, submit fraudulent service requests, or use information from the website for unlawful purposes.
26. INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
Unless otherwise stated, the Auto Keys R Us name, branding, website content, graphics, photographs, written descriptions, and other original materials are owned by or licensed to Auto Keys R Us.
They may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, or commercially used without permission except as permitted by law.
Vehicle manufacturer names, logos, trademarks, and product names belong to their respective owners. References to vehicle manufacturers are used for identification and compatibility purposes and do not imply affiliation, sponsorship, or endorsement unless specifically stated.
27. PRIVACY
Information submitted through our website or during service may include names, contact information, vehicle information, VINs, service addresses, and transaction information.
Our collection and handling of personal information is also governed by our Privacy Policy.
We may use customer information as reasonably necessary to schedule appointments, provide services, process payments, communicate regarding an order or service, maintain business records, prevent fraud, and comply with legal obligations.
28. TEXT MESSAGES, PHONE CALLS, AND EMAIL
When you provide a phone number or email address in connection with a service request, you authorize Auto Keys R Us to contact you regarding your inquiry, appointment, service, estimate, order, payment, or related customer-service matters.
Any separate promotional or marketing communications will be handled in accordance with applicable law and applicable consent requirements.
29. GOVERNING LAW
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Washington, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute relating to services provided by Auto Keys R Us will be handled in accordance with applicable Washington and federal law.
30. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
Auto Keys R Us may update these Terms from time to time.
The revised Terms will become effective when posted on our website unless otherwise stated. The “Last Updated” date at the top of this page identifies the most recent revision.
Continued use of our website or services following an update constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms to the extent permitted by law.
31. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.
32. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
These Terms, together with applicable estimates, invoices, work orders, warranty terms, policies, and our Privacy Policy, constitute the agreement between the customer and Auto Keys R Us concerning the applicable products and services.
